Celebrating local people who give back: Stockport Rocks! 2025

Following the incredible response to the first Stockport Rocks! Volunteer Awards Celebration last year, the event is back again for 2025.

The second Stockport Rocks! Volunteer Awards will take place on Tuesday 20 May, at Edgeley Park, celebrating the invaluable contributions of local people who give back.

Stockport Rocks! was established in response to requests from our local Voluntary & Community sector, emphasising the importance of recognising and celebrating our dedicated volunteers. Without their generosity, over 1,700 local charities, community groups, and social enterprises would struggle to provide the vital services that keep our communities healthy, happy, and safe.

This year, Sector 3 (Stockport’s charity infrastructure support organisation) are once again partnering with Stockport Council, Stockport County Community Trust, and Marketing Stockport to deliver a memorable celebration for 400 guests at Edgeley Park. The event will honour over 200 volunteers across 12 award categories, recognising those who give back.

New to Stockport, KAO Data are the headline sponsor for Stockport Rocks! 2025 with their new AI data centre planned for Reddish.

The event offers a fantastic opportunity for businesses to support Stockport’s communities, celebrate volunteers, and align with community values. Various sponsorship packages are available to cater to different budgets, including opportunities to sponsor award categories, tables for volunteers, and more. Other forms of sponsorship are also welcome including prize donations.

Help us celebrate the incredible contributions of Stockport’s volunteers. All volunteers attending the event will be treated to a two-course meal, a welcome drink, and a night filled with surprises to make them feel special.

Nominations for Stockport Rocks! 2025 will open 1^st – 28^th February with entries encouraged for anyone who gives back, from the neighbour who puts your bins out every week, to those running a social group in their own time. More information can be found on the Sector 3 website.
