Stockport based technology firm, CDL, has donated 28 laptops and 11 PCs to ‘Mustard Tree’, an organisation based in Ancoats that exists to serve people across Greater Manchester that find themselves without home, food, dignity or hope.
The computers will be used for IT classes and in-house training at Mustard Tree’s weekly ‘Ready for Work’ club, for creating CVs and online job searching.

Co-ordinator at Mustard Tree said:
“These computers are a highly valued
resource and will replace our aged computer
suite PCs! Over the past year we have
supported 30 individuals back into
employment. This kind donation will help us
to continue our effectiveness in supporting
our clients to increase their skills, confidence
and realise their potential.”
Based on Kings Reach Road, Heaton Mersey, CDL supply cutting-edge insurance software to many of the UK’s biggest price comparison websites and insurance brokers. CDL renews its hardware regularly, and wanted to find a responsible way to recycle its used computers that would benefit the local community.
Peter Larkham, Head of Human Resources for CDL, said:
“We are committed to a scheme of corporate social responsibility and, through our relationship with Mustard Tree, are able to ensure that our old computers will not only be recycled, they’ll directly benefit some of the people in our local community that need access to them the most.”
