Stockport-based catering equipment supplier, Stephensons, has announced a significant expansion of its warehouse operations after acquiring additional space in Cheadle.
New buildings totalling over 30,000 sq ft will enable the family-run business to increase its bulk purchasing power and improve overall service to customers as a result. The acquisition follows space extensions of three units on the same lot in Cheadle, bringing the total warehouse floorspace at the catering supplier to 62,000 sq ft.
The deal highlights the catering supplier’s continued commitment to investing in its Stockport base after moving from Manchester city centre to the town in 1967. Stephensons received valuable assistance from Stockport Council’s Regeneration & Development team during the purchasing process.
Stephensons‘ Sales Director Julian Lewis Booth, who handled the purchase, commented:
“Stockport has been good to us since we moved here in 1967, we want to stay here and invest locally as we continue to grow. It’s important to us that we can retain all staff and keep our close-knit team, close by.”
On the expansion, Managing Director Henry Stephenson added:
“Demand has resulted in us outgrowing our current site and I’m excited to now have the flexibility to buy better and the capacity to realise our future growth plans in Stockport.”
Operating since 1868, Stephensons is an independent, family-run catering and hospitality equipment supplier based in Stockport.
