Stockport will be holding its first ever 10K run on Sunday 19th July and Stockport County Community Trust are reaching out to local businesses for their support.
Starting and finishing at Edgeley Park, the run is expected to attract thousands of runners of all ages – from the more competitive to the fun runners – and will raise funds for the Community Trust.
For just £1,000, ten Stockport businesses will have the chance to sponsor a kilometre marker, supporting the great work of the Trust while benefiting from excellent brand exposure.
Stockport County Community Trust is the official charity of Stockport County Football Club, established by the Club’s owner, Mark Stott when he bought the Club in 2020, to ensure that Stockport County could make a significant benefit to the local community.
Using the power of Stockport County, the Trust makes a positive difference by inspiring, educating and supporting our community focusing on four key areas: increasing physical activity, improving wellbeing, increasing educational attainment and building stronger communities.
Stockport County Community Trust’s CEO, Alison Warwood explains:
“This is a great opportunity for local businesses. As Stockport’s inaugural 10k run, we are expecting to generate significant press & media coverage, including from the Manchester Evening News, BBC and ITV. Our own news article will highlight the sponsorship and explain how vital business partnerships are in supporting our work and enabling us to deliver our community programmes that are carefully designed to help people lead more positive lives by being; more active, healthy, confident skilled, aspirational and more engaged.
“The Trust works with over 10,000 people each year across the borough and provides a substantial CSR benefit to the local community. External evaluation shows that for every £1 invested in the work of Stockport County Community Trust, there is a social value return of £6.”
Alison continued:
“For businesses, this is an opportunity to align your culture and values to a respected and recognised charity helping to improve physical & mental health, confidence, isolation and wellbeing. Community reach across individuals, families, businesses and local organisations gives business the opportunity to celebrate sport and connect directly with potential customers in a positive environment.”
