A business networking group has pulled together to arrange a festive fundraiser for a local charity.
The event, organised by The Social, an invitation-only networking group for those in the property & construction sectors, took place at the Castlefield Rooms in Manchester and raised thousands for their charity partner Forever Manchester.
Forever Manchester raises and distributes money to support local people, groups and grass-root charities throughout Greater Manchester.
Nick Massey, Chief Exec, spoke at the event;
“Without funding the groups and projects we support would simply cease to exist. The generous donations we receive mean we can support local communities now and forever.”
The charity dinner was attended by 130 business people, including representatives from sponsors Innov8 Development Solutions, Clarke Nicklin, Spacezero, Davis Blank Furniss and Bell Munro, and entertainment was provided by Manchester Soul singer Charlie Cooper, who went on to support Jools Holland the following evening!
In total they managed to collect over £5000 through ticket sales, a raffle and silent auction.
Top prizes came from the likes of Revolucion de Cuba, hosts of the regular networking events, who offered a meal and cocktail evening for 4 people, and Innov8 Development Solutions who sourced signed football memorabilia and football experiences.
Brian Bradley, (left) from co-organisers Clarke Nicklin commented;
“The event was a real success and we were proud to be a part
of raising so much for charity. I am always amazed at the generosity
of local people, particularly as times are tough and we are approaching
Christmas.
“Forever Manchester is a very worthy cause and will benefit hugely from
the money raised.”
