Transport for Greater Manchester (TfGM) is inviting businesses across the city-region to apply for its Sustainable Journeys Accreditation scheme.
The accreditation scheme recognises businesses that show a commitment to enabling employees to make more sustainable travel choices in their journeys to work, such as through fleet investment or more flexible working practices.
TfGM want 50% of all journeys in the city-region to be made by sustainable travel, so have set up the scheme to celebrate businesses that are taking steps to get there, and offers four tiers of accreditation: Bronze, Silver, Gold and Platinum.
Three additional awards have also been added to the Sustainable Journeys Accreditation scheme to reward excellence in sustainable travel: a Champion of Champions Award, an Active Travel Award and a Dynamic Working Award. To support the Mayor’s Good Employer Charter, being a supporter of the charter has also been added as a criteria for Silver and higher levels of accreditation.
If successful, Sustainable Journeys Accreditation will be awarded at an event on 16th June to celebrate the progress being made in sustainable travel across Greater Manchester.
The wider business community will be invited to celebrate these achievements and help raise the profile of the importance and benefits of sustainable travel. The event will be followed by a networking lunch, giving you the chance to share knowledge with like-minded businesses.
Details of accreditation criteria and to request an application form can be found on the TfGM website. This year’s applications close 8th April 2020.
