US-based business services and outsourced customer engagement provider, Concentrix, is set to create almost 400 jobs in Stockport and Greater Manchester, Business Live has reported.
The new roles have been created in response to eight new contract wins for the group.
The group operates from four sites in the city-region, including in Bredbury and Pear Mill in Stockport. The company also has sites in Altrincham and Salford. How the 374 new jobs, a 35% increase in headcount in the region, will be distributed across the sites has not been revealed. A number of work-from-home positions will also be created as part of Concentrix’s expansion plans.
Recruitment will take place over the next couple of months as the business services group’s new contracts, in sectors including finance and utilities, come online. Concentrix is being supported in its efforts by Greater Manchester’s inward investment agency, MIDAS, as well as local authorities and careers services.
The news has been welcomed by MIDAS chief executive, Tim Newns, due to the recent rises in unemployment due to the pandemic. He commented:
To secure so many jobs for the city region is extremely positive news at this challenging time.
“It is recognition of the strength of Greater Manchester’s talent pool and it is extremely pleasing to see Concentrix once again put its faith in the city region as a leading location for customer service delivery. We look forward to continuing to support Concentix and congratulate them on these contract wins.”
