Malcolm Bailey from Orbit Developments will be cycling from Land’s End to John O’Groats later this month, starting his mammoth journey from the firm’s flagship property, Regent House in the centre of Stockport. Malcolm is the property’s building manager.
It will be the third time Malcolm has completed the 984 mile, 12 day feat, having completed it in 2009 and 2011. He will be leaving Stockport on August 28 to start the cycle from Land’s End on 29th and hopes to be in Scotland by 9th September.
The challenge is in aid to raise funds for the Royal National Lifeboat Institution in support of his nephew who is a crew member based in Sillloth, Cumbria.
“Lifeboats are launched 22 times a day on average around the UK and it’s an expensive business keeping them running with no funding from the government,” said Malcolm.
Anyone wishing to support Malcolm can do so at www.justgiving.com/malcolm-bailey4RNLI. Updates on his progress will be available at Regent House
Tony Jones, Managing Director of Orbit Developments and a keen cyclist himself said:
“Malcolm has a proven track record in completing this demanding ride and we wish him well.”
Colleagues at Orbit in Stockport will also be in action in September, taking part in the Life Leisure 10K run around the town, which they are co-sponsoring. The team of twenty-four are raising money for Millie’s Trust and donations can be made to www.justgiving.com/OrbitDevelopments
