Competing against hundreds of bakery apprentices from across the UK, not only was Amber awarded the prize for best English apprentice, she then went on to claim the UK title.
Amber a local girl, from Bramhall, has been working at the Artisan Bakery since the bakery opened in May 2012. The competition involved demonstrating her skills in breadmaking and finishing confectionary products. She wowed the judges with some delicious scrolls and savoury twists (as seen in the bakery everyday).
Bramhall Bakery is an artisan bakery based in the village of
Bramhall, Stockport, Cheshire. We are passionate about great
bread. Our delicious breads and other baked goods are made by
hand everyday using traditional artisan techniques, with no added
preservatives or artificial colourings or flavours. We bake from
early in the morning to put the freshest bread possible on the
shelves everyday. As well as great bread, we also sell a delicious
range of lunch foods, buns and cakes.
Amber, who is a great ambassador for the bakery, was
awarded the trophy at a special dinner in Glasgow on Saturday
night, attended by Mich Turner from Britain’s Best Bakery.
