Booth Ainsworth is hosting a free seminar for charities next week. The new accounting Statements of Recommended Practice (SORPs) that comes in next year will be discussed during the ‘Hot Topics in Charity Accounts’ event on February 10.
The seminar will be run by accountant Peter Herbert, who will explain the new rules, explore their consequences and discuss steps that charities and other not-for-profit organisations should be taking to prepare for their implementation.
During the seminar Peter will discuss the following topics:
- Who does what and from when – including the accounting choices available to charities
- What the financial statements will look like under the new SORPs
- Key areas of accounting rule change – and how to prepare for them
- Changes around the corner for small charities in 2016
- Common problem areas under the current charities SORP (SORP 2005)
- Other legal and regulatory changes currently affecting charity accounts
The session will be interactive, with delegates free to raise questions and issues.
Both Peter and members of Booth Ainsworth’s charities team will be on hand to discuss the implementation of the SORPs with you on a one-to-one basis before and after the seminar.
The event at Edgeley Park will run from 9.30am to 12.30pm – email Eve Haffenden on EveH@boothainsworth.co.uk or telephone 0161 475 1543 to secure your place.
