Stockport libraries are calling for children in Stockport to sign up to the free and exciting Animal Agents themed summer reading challenge and read any six library books this summer. Children’s literacy skills traditionally dip over the summer holidays and the annual Summer Reading Challenge aims to address this by keeping 4-11 year olds reading over the summer.

Councillor Sheila Bailey, Cabinet Member for Communities and Housing said:

“I hope everyone enjoys the bank holiday weekend. If you are looking for events to attend or places to visit, hopefully these ideas will help. There is plenty going on over the weekend and all events are family friendly.”
