Store manager Trevor Shaw and his team’s dedication to store set up, cleanliness, engagement of staff and stock availability has benefitted St Ann’s Hospice as Trevor explains:
“This is a truly fantastic achievement for B&Q Stockport and I have to thoroughly commend my team who work so hard every day to make the store not only a fantastic place to work, but a unique shopping experience for our customers as well. It was a collective decision to reach out to a local charity and realising that the work done by St Ann’s Hospice was extremely well respected by many of us, we knew we’d made the perfect decision in donating the money to them.”
St Ann’s Hospice is a charity that cares and helps patients (over the age of 16) and their families and carers who are affected by cancer and non-cancer life limiting illnesses. Around 40% of their inpatients return home after treatment.
Kathryn Sexton, Community Fundraising Officer at St Ann’s Hospice, said:
“We’d like to thank B&Q and their employees for this generous donation. As a charity we provide all our services free of charge, caring for around 3,000 people each year in Greater Manchester and we rely heavily on businesses and individuals for support.”
