The PC Support Group opens in the town with new remote monitoring capabilities to deliver maximum benefit for small businesses
A level of support technology usually only enjoyed by large corporates is being made available to SMEs in Stockport for the first time this week.
The PC Support Group, based in Broadstone Mill, will be able to provide proactive 24/7 system monitoring, normally the preserve of big business, to give small businesses the same competitive advantage.
Regional Director John Kilkenny, former Global IT Director for chemical giant Flexsys, said the availability of the technology was long overdue in the SME marketplace, and that it would make a huge difference.
“We know that the most basic requirement in all businesses is for their IT to work as it should so that they can get on with what they are doing,” said John.
“At The PC Support Group we proactively monitor for potential issues and work on our clients computers even when they appear to be operating perfectly. This keeps their IT system operating efficiently with much fewer failures, which saves people time and money.
“We also operate using quality processes, typical of a much larger support organisation, but without their overheads, so we can keep our costs down.”

The PC Support Group will be targeting small businesses in Stockport who have been frustrated by their IT not delivering what they need. The company will offer a full spectrum of services from fixing a small piece of hardware to the design and implementation of major IT systems.
John again: “We are looking to work with start-up companies and owner manager businesses in general who have up to 100 computers and no in-house IT resource.”
With over 20 years of looking after IT in large businesses John has a lot to offer the SME sector. “Working in big business has given me a great understanding of what it takes to get consistent performance from an IT system. It’s all about on-going improvements while controlling costs. No business, whatever its size, can afford downtime. My background can help me protect companies from that and build robust systems for growth.”
Stockport will be office number 12 for the ambitious UK network group – started just six years ago – which has successfully married a national vision with locally-based personal service.
Managing Director, Phil Bird, explains: “We have set the company up to give small businesses all the advantages of a big company from an IT perspective. All our customers enjoy a new level of reliability which allows them to compete and grow.”
The PC Support Group also provides outsourced IT solutions for larger companies with up to 200 PCs and complex server environments as well as home users.
