Sickness
• Do you have to pay your staff when they call in sick?
• Are your employees aware of how to call in sick and when they are expected to do it?
• Are your policies on sickness tied to your disciplinary policies?
Absenteeism
• Do you have habitual absenteeism already in your business?
• Do you already have an idea of which members of staff are likely to go absent following a night out?
• Are you geared up to treat all types of absenteeism with the same processes?
Drugs & Alcohol in the workplace
• Do you operate random Drug and Alcohol testing?
• Are you ensuring drivers of company vehicles are not still, “over the limit”, even on the morning after!
• Are staff aware of the implications of drinking alcohol in the workplace?
Holidays
• Do you offer a, “first come, first served” policy?
• Are staff aware that they may not to be able to take holidays at certain times of the year, or if other
employees have already booked in the same time?
• Do you’re employees know how to apply for time off and how much notice they should give?
Disciplinary procedures
• Are your disciplinary procedures set out clearly within your contracts of employment?
• Are all staff aware that you have disciplinary procedures in place?
• Would you feel comfortable and in control when disciplining a member of staff?
