Property agents from across Manchester’s industrial sector came together for the launch of Aurora Stockport, the town’s newest industrial park.
Aurora Stockport – next to junction one of the M60 – will transform an 18-acre site close to Stockport town centre, into a modern 145,000 sq ft industrial park.
Comprising 10 light industrial units, the development will give companies the opportunity to run their business from high spec premises in one of the best connected locations in the north west.
Hosted by Stockport Council and scheme agents CBRE, the event gave agents the chance to hear more about Aurora Stockport and how its development forms part of the £1 billion Investing in Stockport programme currently under way across Stockport, bringing with it unrivalled opportunities for businesses and residents.
Work by Seddon Construction at Aurora Stockport begins this week, with the first units being available in early 2017.
Caroline Simpson, corporate director for Place Management and Regeneration at Stockport Council, said: “This is truly an exciting time for Stockport.
“Work on many of our Growth projects is already underway and gathering pace, transforming areas of Stockport. Aurora Stockport will complement this and play an important role in the town’s development.
“Stockport’s exceptional workforce and connectivity means that demand for industrial units continues to increase locally. Aurora Stockport will help ensure businesses can find their new home in our town bringing new jobs and opportunities to the borough.”
Steve Capper, of sole Letting Agents CBRE , added: “Demand for industrial accommodation in Stockport remains exceptionally strong and the build quality, mix of unit sizes and the fantastic location of Aurora will undoubtedly generate huge interest from local and regional occupiers.
“In fact, as we officially launch the development we are already talking to a significant number of occupiers who are keen to take advantage of this excellent opportunity.”
