Aurora Stockport, Stockport’s newest industrial park next to the M60, has completed deals on over 100,000 sq ft of premium industrial space as it reaches practical completion.
The trio of deals will see CAF Rail, Aeroco and Anglian Windows join Baumuller at Aurora Stockport, with each company choosing to make the industrial park the base from which they plan to grow their businesses over the coming years.
The popularity of Aurora Stockport has been evident from day one. Demand for the space has been so high that only four of the units on the industrial park are still available, with advance negotiations underway on two of these.
From its prime position, the modern 146,000 sq ft industrial park, developed by Stockport Council, gives companies the opportunity to run their businesses from high spec premises in one of the best connected locations in the North West.
Rail manufacturers, CAF Rail UK, has announced that they will be moving into Aurora Stockport’s largest unit. Taking 47,167 sq ft CAF Rail have been looking for their first north west manufacturing base close to their Manchester Airport office having secured a number of high profile contracts with Network Rail. Drawn to Aurora Stockport by its quality of premises, first class location and skilled workforce, the news will see CAF create 30 jobs.
Leading aircraft maintenance specialists Aeroco Group, whose customers include Jet2, easyJet and Thomas Cook, have also chosen Aurora Stockport taking a 15 year lease on two units totalling 20,506 sq ft. Operating from Stockport for the first time, Aeroco’s new facility will provide the company with the space they need having successfully won a number of commercial contracts over recent months.
Anglian Windows investment at Aurora sees the company continue to grow its presence in Stockport. Manufacturing quality windows, conservatories and doors the home improvement specialists will use their new 15,356 sq ft base to increase their production capacity following a growing demand for their products from customers.
Councillor Kate Butler, Stockport Council’s Cabinet Member for Economy and Regeneration said
“Aurora Stockport’s success so far has more than matched our expectations. I am delighted about this and that so many companies are choosing it as the home from which they want to grow their business. As each of these businesses grows, new jobs will be created that local residents will be able to benefit from, showing once again how the investment work taking place across Stockport is bringing new opportunities for everyone.”
Steve Capper of CBRE commented
“This is a fantastic scheme offering high quality accommodation in an excellent location and it is no surprise that so much of the estate has been let prior to completion. With only four units remaining and demand still strong I fully expect the estate to be fully let in the coming months”.
