Stockport-based company 25poundlogo.co.uk has been slammed by the Advertising Standards Agency for running an offer ‘expiring at midnight’ every day for the last 22 months.
A complaint against the company was first upheld by the ASA in June 2011 as reported on the ASA http://www.asa.org.uk/Rulings/Adjudications/2011/6/25poundlogo/TF_ADJ_50707.aspx
The ‘misleading’ offer promises customers £100 of free products and services if they sign up before the end of the day in celebration of the firm’s ‘special’ 500th customer.
But, like clockwork, the countdown timer telling clients to take advantage before midnight starts all over again when the clock hits 12am.
Despite now being on the advertising watchdog’s blacklist of rogue advertisers, the offer has continued to roll on online – as witnessed for several days by the M.E.N.
A complaint against the company, which provides businesses with custom-made logos for as little as £25, was first upheld by the ASA in June 2011. It then added the firm to its blacklist last month after failing in repeated bids to get the advert removed.
