Stockport Council’s Apprenticeships Store helped students to understand the merits of apprenticeships as an alternative to university.
The Apprenticeships Store hosted an event for Cheadle Hulme High School students school as part of National Apprenticeship Week.
Information was given on a range of apprenticeships available to young people, including accountancy, leadership and management, paralegal, solicitor, and surveying, as an alternative to University.
John Peet, from Cheadle Hulme High School, said: “The Apprenticeships Store is an excellent facility for schools to access, offering independent information on apprenticeships and adding value to our daily school offer.
“We are delighted that the council is investing in the youth of Stockport and informing them of the labour market opportunities available to them.”
The Apprenticeships Store is open Monday to Friday from 10am-4.30 pm on a drop-in basis. Contact apprenticeships@stockport.gov.uk or phone 0161 474 4745.
