As part of National Apprenticeship Week, the Apprenticeships Store in Stockport will be holding an information evening to promote awareness of Apprenticeships.
The event will take place on Thursday 8th March between 5pm-7pm at the Apprenticeships Store, Stockport Exchange, Wellington Road South, Stockport, SK1 3TA.
The event is aimed at parents/carers and young people wanting to find out more about the apprenticeship route, including:
– How much do you know about Apprenticeships and how do you apply successfully?
– Do you know there are Apprenticeships in everything from journalism to manufacturing?
– Have you considered an Apprenticeship as an alternative to University?
– Are you aware of hundreds of apprenticeship opportunities currently available across Grater Manchester?
There will be a wealth of information available about the different training providers and the variety of apprenticeships they have on offer. Staff in the Apprenticeship Store will be happy to support young people on how to apply for an apprenticeship.
There will also be opportunities to speak to apprentices from Stockport Council to hear about apprenticeships from their perspective and have any questions you may want to ask to be answered.
Cllr Dean Fitzpatrick, Stockport Council’s Cabinet Member for Education, said:
This event is a great opportunity for parents, carers and young people to learn more about apprenticeships and to gain an insight into the range of apprenticeship opportunities available.”
The 11th National Apprenticeship Week (#NAW2018) will run from 5th to 9th March 2018. During the week employers and apprentices from across the country will come together to celebrate the success of apprenticeships whilst encouraging even more people to choose apprenticeships as a pathway to a great career.
