Stockport Council is holding a ‘drop-in’ day for employers to learn how apprenticeships can add value to their businesses.
The event is taking place between 10.00am and 4.00pm on Tuesday 17th June at the Apprenticeships Store, Units 4-6 Grand Central, Wellington Road South in Stockport.
Councillor Shan Alexander, Stockport Council’s Executive Member for Lifelong Learning and Achievement, said:
“Apprenticeships bring huge value to individuals, employers, organisations and the economy. Research shows they are a superb way of training and developing young people, helping businesses to secure a workforce with the skills and qualities they need and which are frequently not available on the job market.”
Areas covered include the following:
- Apprenticeships which are available, including level 4 and 5 Higher Apprenticeships
- How to recruit apprentices
- The range of grants that are currently available
- Other training that is on offer locally for your current employees and/or how to source training which you need for your company
- How to book the Apprenticeships Store as a venue for your events/meetings
Businesses will also have the chance to talk directly to higher apprentices, training providers and other employers, which will allow them to see in depth, how the apprenticeship route can benefit their business.
