Stockport boasts excellent transport connectivity, Manchester Airport providing wide range of opportunities for the region. With the ongoing developments at Airport City this has created considerable international partnerships that will benefit Stockport, it’s business community and the North West region as a whole.
Airport City Manchester, the five million square foot landmark development around Manchester Airport, has appointed public relations agency Weber Shandwick, to support media and investor relations in China, ahead of embarking on its first international road show.
Through its China operations, which span across Beijing, Guangzhou and Shanghai, Weber Shandwick will support investor relations, media briefings and profiling for the road show, which will visit Beijing, Shanghai and Shenzhen from 9-13th June this year.
Angela Fielding, Senior Project Director at Argent, Airport City Development Manager, said: “We are looking forward to taking Airport City Manchester out to China to showcase its strong proposition amongst a key audience for the development. We feel having the right PR partners in place will enable us to maximise on the strong media awareness that exists already in China and to take this to the next level through a targeted, insight-led approach.
“As well as having the on the ground support, the Press Office at Manchester Airports Group (MAG) will continue to drive UK awareness for Airport City Manchester and the road show.”
The senior delegation going out to China will be led by MAG’s CEO Charlie Cornish. He will be joined by David Partridge, Managing Partner of Argent, John Atkins, MAG Property Director plus representatives from MIDAS, Manchester China Forum and Marketing Manchester. They will be joined out in China by Beijing Construction Engineering Group’s Managing Director Mr Xing Yan, who has a 20% share of the joint venture.
Ahead of the road show, Mr Xing Yan also attended the UKTI’s UK Infrastructure & Regeneration Business Luncheon for Chinese Business Leaders, on May 28th with UK Secretary of State Vince Cable.
The mainland China road show, which will aim to attract Chinese businesses, will highlight what Airport City Manchester has to offer their company. At each city there will be a range of events that will appeal to occupier investors, manufacturers and property agents, all of which will promote the opportunities and support available at the £800m landmark development at Manchester Airport, UK. Further international road shows will follow across key territories including the Middle East and USA.
Outline planning permission for Airport City was secured at the start of 2013, and the Chancellor, George Osborne, announced its joint venture partners in October last year. Airport City will provide 5 million square feet of development, consisting of a mix of office space, hotels, advanced manufacturing, logistics and warehousing.
