Marketing Stockport’s latest business breakfast took place at the East Cheshire Training Academy on Lancashire Hill.
Ross Smith and Andy Baxter from Bosci started proceedings by talking about making businesses energy efficient and they gave tips on how to save money.
Christian Mancier, partner at Gorvins, then talked about Gander, the programme that gives students an insight at what it is like to work within different industries.
Gander aims to help sixth form college students by providing support and insight into the business community, using the experience and expertise in and around Stockport.
Support can include work placements, mentoring and mock interviews.
Christian said: “It’s all about bringing education and business together, making it as easy as possible for businesses to get involved.
“It also gives today’s youngsters a real-life opportunity and an insight into working for a number of different companies.”

Sue Souter, MD of Souter PR, then gave an outline of the Content Academy, which trains people and companies to tell and distribute their news stories.
The new programme has launched with courses on news writing, how to plan a news diary, social media, photography and making video.
The trainers include Marketing Stockport’s Richard Higginson and Paul Harrison.
