Now in its fourth year, Construction Summit North will connect 400 delegates with some of the biggest names in the industry.
The largest property and construction event of its kind outside of London, this two day event will provide a unique opportunity to discuss the latest developments in the region and across the UK construction sector.
Organised by Greater Manchester Chamber of Commerce and the University of Salford, the event will explore how the Government’s industrial strategy, regional devolution and the affordable homes programme will shape the North’s property sector in the years to come.
Chairing the event is Chris Fletcher, Marketing and Policy Director, Greater Manchester Chamber of Commerce:
“The UK faces a series of unique challenges over the coming years on the back of June’s General Election and Brexit. Locally, the first round of elected mayors are now in place (others will follow from 2020 onwards) With record levels of interest and investment in development, major new construction schemes about to start such as HS2 and more on the planning board, there are huge opportunities to take advantage of. The day is about identifying these, what are the priorities, what are the barriers to getting action underway and how can they be sorted? With government and others in need of ideas the sector is ideally placed to input and shape its own future.
“The summit will aim to mix together the issues and practical operational aspects for the sector to make it regionally and industry relevant and offer new and diverse views and solutions to a range of issues.”
Day 1 – September 13th – Construction Summit North
The panel and delegates are set to discuss the region’s infrastructure and connectivity needs, how Brexit will affect strategic planning & investment and how policy changes will impact on business.
Day 2 – September 14th – Digital Technology in Construction
In an industry which has traditionally been slow to adapt to change, innovative new technologies are beginning to challenge long held assumptions in the construction sector.
Building on the success of the annual Construction Summit North, Greater Manchester Chamber of Commerce and the University of Salford present the first Digital Technology Conference to explore how these latest advances are changing the buildings we live and work in.
Bringing more than 400 delegates together with the biggest names in the digital construction sector, this expanded event will explore how building information modelling, digital design, big data and the internet of things are revolutionising the way we think about property and construction.
See how big data is making buildings smarter and more efficient, how digital modelling can spot small errors before they become costly mistakes and anticipate how the technology of the future will change the way we work.
