Cheadle-based specialist finance provider Together has raised nearly £2,000 for Children in Need, with its 600-plus colleagues taking part in a host of exciting events, supported by Premiership rugby club Sale Sharks.
In a packed day of fundraising, one of the highlights was ‘A Question of Sport’ against a team of the professional rugby union players, captained by Josh Beaumont; son of legendary rugby player and quiz show host, Bill.
Commercial CEO at Together, Marc Goldberg, who captained the home team made up of the company’s most committed sports fans commented:
“It was fantastic to have Sale Sharks join us for this charity event. Our colleagues really enjoyed it and we raised funds for a great cause, so a big thank you to all who got involved.”
Together announced its sponsorship of Sale Sharks earlier this year and has collaborated with the club on a host of initiatives since.
Mark Cueto, Sale Sharks’ commercial director said:
“For the quiz, Josh Beaumont was joined by teammates Johnny Leota, Luke James and Jake Pope and they were all delighted to support Children in Need in partnership with Together. They even brought a trophy back for the cabinet so we’re all very proud of them!”
A Sale Sharks signed shirt was also raffled off, whilst one cake sold for £100 in the auction of bake-off winners, and the activity was captured by Bellyflop TV who spent the day filming Stockport businesses fundraising.
Together’s fundraising programme – Let’s get Giving – is part of the company’s wider ‘Let’s make it count’ initiative which spans charity, community and the environment, and the company recently received the ‘Excellence in CSR’ award at the Stockport Business Awards.
The lender is currently accepting nominations from charities seeking support for 2018. To apply, charities should email details about their charity and what Together’s support would mean to them. Nominations must be emailed to csr@togethermoney.com by 29th November 2017. Following a review and colleague voting process, charities will be selected at the end of the year.
