Leading electro-mechanical engineers, Baumüller, have announced they will be moving to Aurora Stockport when the industrial park opens later next month.
Baumüller has been searching for a new home for their growing UK operations having successfully won a number of new contracts. After an extensive search of the Greater Manchester industrial market, two units at Aurora Stockport totalling 19,159 sq. ft have been chosen as the company’s new home for its team of staff.
To attract a global occupier such as Baumüller is great news for Aurora Stockport. The announcement comes as a further four units in the 145,000 sq ft industrial park are under offer, and there is significant interest in other available units.
£12m is being currently invested at Aurora Stockport, transforming a prime site alongside junction 1 of the M60 into a modern employment area. Offering light industrial units between 8,700 sq ft and 47,000 sq ft the estate’s prominent location, combined with the town’s highly skilled workforce, make it an ideal for growing businesses looking for their next home. The development is part of the £1 billion Investing in Stockport programme underway across Stockport.
Raaland Burke, Director Baumüller (UK) Ltd said:
“We’re delighted that after a long search for larger suitable premises for our UK operations we have been fortunate enough to secure such a fantastic new building within the Stockport area meaning we can realise our plans for further growth whilst remaining in the borough and retaining access to the great transport links, infrastructure and skilled workforce that Stockport offers. We are grateful to all those involved who made the move possible and wish Stockport Council continued success in attracting further companies to Aurora”.
Councillor Kate Butler, Cabinet Member for Economy and Regeneration at Stockport Council commented:
“I’m delighted to welcome Baumüller to Aurora Stockport. It’s great to hear about local companies growing and succeeding here in Stockport, and I wish Baumüller every success as they start this new chapter in their company’s story.
“Work at Aurora Stockport is nearing completion with the industrial park opening later this month. There has been a lot of interest in the units and we hope to be making more letting announcements very soon.”
CBRE has been appointed as agents for Aurora Stockport with Stockport Council’s property partners Carillion and CBRE acting for the Council as Development Manager and Project Managers. Lead contractor, Seddon Construction began work in July 2016.
