Vernon Building Society, Stockport’s home-grown building society, is seeking to recruit Trustees to join the organisation’s new charitable foundation.
The Vernon Charitable Foundation is being established as part of the Vernon Building Society’s celebration of its centenary year as it builds on its existing tradition of being part of and giving back to the local community in Stockport and Greater Manchester. Trustees of the foundation will take responsibility for supporting, governing and strengthening its community development objectives.
Across all the foundation’s Trustees, the Vernon is looking to bring on individuals who understand the issues affecting those living in Stockport and surrounding communities, as well as experience in grant-making and monitoring, evaluating and influencing social change. The Vernon hopes to gather all the necessary skills across all of its Trustees who will work effectively as a team to make a difference to the community.
The position is voluntary, and will require Trustees to meet each quarter, either in person or virtually, to award grants to other charitable organisations in Stockport, Cheshire and Greater Manchester.
Applications are already open to join the Vernon Charitable Foundation’s Board of Trustees, and will close on 30th September.
Further information about the role of a Trustee at the Vernon Charitable Foundation can be found on the building society’s website, along with details of how to apply.
