Stockport County FC has confirmed plans for an open-top bus parade and trophy presentation to celebrate the club crowning as League Two Champions.
Dave Challinor’s men secured a first EFL title for the club in 57 years – and with it, a place in League One next season. The club rounded off its historic performance this season with a 4-2 win against Accrington Stanley at a sold-out Edgeley Park on Saturday 20th April where the side was presented with the League Two trophy and divisional winners’ medals.
On Sunday 28th April, the people of Stockport will also get the opportunity to share in the club’s success when the trophy is paraded through the streets.
As was the case with Stockport County’s previous two title wins in 2019 and 2022, the players will first attend a private civic ceremony at Stockport Town Hall to commemorate their achievements whilst representing the town and club. It’s then all aboard the open-top bus, which is scheduled to officially depart the Town Hall at 3pm.

The parade bus will start on Edward Street, before going across the A6 and slowly making its way down Greek Street and then on to Mercian Way. It will then turn on to Hardcastle Road, before returning to Edgeley Park at around 3.40pm. The club are calling for Stockport residents to line the streets along the way to give the boys a deserved Champions welcome.
After the parade, supporters are invited to join the Hatters inside the ground for one last time this season, for a trophy presentation. As in previous years, our Champions will make their way out onto the Edgeley Park pitch one-by-one, each having their moment to lift the trophy in front of the Cheadle End.
This event is expected to start at approximately 4pm, giving supporters plenty of time to safely enter the ground. In order to monitor the number of people inside the ground, supporters will need to book their place online in advance – this is priced at just £2, with all proceeds going to the County Community Trust. Tickets for the Cheadle End will be sold first, before opening up the Together Stand if needed.
After the presentation, which will be hosted by Club President Steve Bellis, the club will also be presenting the players with the End of Season Awards for 2023/24, before the event finishes at approximately 5.30pm.
