Stockport charity, Seashell, were among organisations represented at a British Cycling event held to mark the first anniversary of its inclusive cycling programme.
Since launching, the Limitless programme has helped over 50 clubs across the country to break down barriers, and enabled people of all abilities to experience the joy of cycling.
Seashell, from its campus in Cheadle Hulme, provides support and education for children and young adults with the most complex disabilities. In 2022, the charity opened its Bradbury Cycling Centre at its campus, funded by British Cycling’s Places to Ride scheme, which gives its clients, and other young people in the community, access to a bike suitable for their needs, the skills and confidence to use it, and somewhere local, safe and exciting to ride, with a large floodlit Learn To Ride area leading to three graded off-road trails.
Also in attendance alongside pioneers of inclusive cycling was the Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh, who met with representatives of organisations such as Seashell that are part of the Limitless programme. ICE Trikes also gave those at the event the opportunity to try out its range of inclusive three-wheelers.
