Director of Stockport based Trust is going the extra mile – an extra 26 capital miles to be exact – running the London Marathon for Together Trust.
Stuart Bradley, Managing Director of Stockport branding agency Trust, has committed to running the London Marathon in aid of Cheadle-based charity the Together Trust.
Stuart, who connected with the Together Trust through networking at Marketing Stockport, commented,
“Training for the marathon has been a huge challenge, but the work the Together Trust do to support the people and families living with autism is such a worthy cause, it really puts my training aches and pains into perspective.
“Running the London Marathon has been a lifelong ambition for me, and I am thrilled that I can do it for such a fantastic charity.”
This is Stuart’s first full marathon, and he is ambitiously aiming to run the marathon in under 3 hours and 30 minutes, with many generous donors pledging to double their donation if he beats this target. To give this some context, elite runners finish in under 3 hours. So it’s quite the challenge.
Julie Williams, Community and Event Fundraiser at the Together Trust said,
“Our fundraising team and supporters work together tirelessly to help vulnerable people with huge challenges in their daily lives. We provide the means to give them exciting new experiences, opportunities and provide specialist equipment to help them achieve their full potential.
“We couldn’t do this without the generous support of our fundraisers. We are so grateful to Stuart for all the hard work he is doing in training for the London Marathon. Such support makes a real difference to the work the Together Trust can do.”
His current weekly training diary consists of:
- Running 55k
- Swimming 1000m
- Cycling 30k
- And ‘trying’ to eat well
This gruelling training routine has taken its toll on his knees [which apparently ache a bit] but also posed many challenges like balancing the demands of running a busy, growing agency.
The London Marathon takes place on Sunday 23rd April.
