Stockport accountants Hallidays have recruited an expert to manage, coach and enhance their growing team.
New team manager Helen Johnson has a wealth of experience managing and coaching a large team.
She will nurture the team, including 10 trainees recruited during the past 12 months mostly from local colleges and universities.
Based at Kings Reach, Hallidays have developed a reputation for nurturing talent and supporting career progression and receive over 100 applications for each trainee placement.
The accountants and business advisors are keen to support young people from the local area with financial support and study leave to gain their AAT and ACCA qualifications.
A former trainee at Hallidays, Katie Cheetham, recently won an international award for her overall performance in her accountancy examinations.
Helen will play a pivotal role in supporting the trainees to develop their skills by providing work shadowing and coaching.
Each trainee will complete Hallidays DISC behavioural profiling and receive regular one-to-one performance reviews to build both their accountancy and interpersonal skills, both key to supporting local business owners to drive their businesses forward.
Helen said: “I’m really thrilled to be given the opportunity to join the team at Hallidays as there are excellent study and career opportunities.
“I’m particularly looking forward to helping to support and develop the trainee accountants as I find coaching very rewarding.”
Helen will also use her experience and skills with Hallidays’ clients to support them to grow their businesses.
She added: “I also have extensive experience of supporting local businesses to grow and achieve their goals, having worked with a wide range of businesses, from sole traders to international companies for the past 14 years.
Hallidays director, Nichola Coles, said: “I’m delighted Helen has joined Hallidays. With her friendly, proactive approach we are confident that she will be a great asset supporting both our team and our clients to grow.
“With her detailed knowledge of regulations, her clients can have confidence that her team are compliant with rules and regulations, improving systems and finding new ways to support businesses to grow.”
