Stockport’s C&C Insurance Brokers got into the festive mood to raise much needed funds for local charity The Wellspring.
Teams of workers throughout the Romiley based business brought smiles to the faces of co-workers when they wore Christmas jumpers to work.
But the biggest smiles were seen at The Wellspring centre as they handed over £125 to provide Christmas dinners and a gift for the visitors to The Wellspring over the festive season. Just £5 pays for a Christmas dinner and a gift.
The Wellspring provides practical assistance for anyone rough sleeping, including rucksacks and sleeping bags which are donated to The Wellspring via The Rucksack Project. Wellspring staff provide regular outreach on the streets.
The centre provides services to homeless and disadvantaged people 365 days a year. The centre aims to support people out of homelessness and to become independent of services.
Not everyone who attends would be homeless, but 95% of the client group are people who would be at risk of becoming homeless. The Wellspring feels very strongly that engaging with the people who are at risk of homelessness is the only way to reduce homelessness in the future.
